TO 662 IN JUNE 2008. AT THE CLOSE OF JUNE 2009
THERE WERE 2253 ACTIVE MLS LISTINGS COMPARED TO
2540 IN JUNE 2008."
ALTHOUGH OUR SPRING MARKET HAD A SLOW BEGINNING,
CONSUMER CONFIDENCE WOULD APPEAR TO BE RETURNING.
OUR LISTING INVENTORY IS STILL DOWN RESULTING IN
MULTIPLE OFFERS FOR COMPETITIVELY PRICED HOMES.
AFFORDABILITY DUE IN PART TO LOW BORROWING COSTS
HAS PLAYED A KEY ROLE IN SUSTAINING A HEALTHY
MARKET. OUR COTTAGE MARKET IS SLOWLY IMPROVING
AS WELL. PETERBOROUGH’S DIVERSE ECONOMY AND
LIFESTYLE OPPORTUNITIES CONTINUE TO ATTRACT NEW
RESIDENTS TO THE AREA. WE ANTICIPATE THAT SALES
WILL STEADILY IMPROVE THROUGHOUT THE REMAINDER
OF THE SUMMER MONTHS.
